Apple Pie Filling

Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice (from 1 lemon)

  • 4 pounds (8 to 10) Granny Smith apples

  • 3/4 cup sugar

  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions:

  1. Peel apples and cut into medium chunks

  2. Place apples into a pot, add sugar, salt and cinnamon. Cook on a stove top for 5-10 minutes.

  3. Allow to cool slightly, add lemon juice.
